NAKED EGG ROLL
Finally, I'm back to blogging. Back to baking......back to cooking....back to normalcy. As some of you know, my family and I moved at the end of October. My last blog post was August 27th, 2016! I sat down to view my blog and said "Has life seriously been THAT crazy lately?"
Well, YES!!!! Moving.....Thanksgiving....Christmas.....New Years.....and well here I am. Finally!!
I have been seeing this amazing recipe all over Facebook for an Egg Roll Bowl. It looked amazing. But I wanted to make it my own of course. I wanted to make it more simple and try to use ingredients I already had on hand. Or even a couple items I could just stop and grab on my way home from work.
My husband loved this recipe but of course my toddler refused and ate fish sticks. Why did I actually think he would eat something so colorful and full of flavor? LOL
INGREDIENTS
- 1 lb Reduced Fat Pork Sausage(or turkey sausage if you do not eat pork)
- 16 oz Shredded Green Cabbage
- 2 Cups Shredded Carrots
- 8 Green Onions(slice and divide the white and green parts)
- 2 Tbsp Sesame Oil
- 1/4 Tsp Ginger Root Powder
- 1 1/2 Tsp Garlic Powder
- 1/2 Cup Bragg's Liquid Aminos(or coconut aminos for a Paleo friendly version)
- Toasted Sesame Seeds*Optional*
DIRECTIONS
In a skillet, heat sesame oil on medium heat. Add white onion parts and ginger and cook until onions are tender. Add sausage and cook until browned. Lastly, add liquid aminos, carrots, and cabbage and cook until cabbage is wilted.
